What Is Filler Dissolving?

Filler dissolving uses an enzyme called hyaluronidase to break down hyaluronic acid (HA) filler that has already been placed. It is commonly used to correct overfilling, address filler that has migrated, smooth out lumps or unevenness, or simply reset an area before re-treating it with a cleaner foundation. Because HA filler is reversible, this is one of the reasons Rita favors it for balanced, natural results.

Hyaluronidase only works on HA fillers. It does not dissolve biostimulators like Sculptra or Radiesse, or permanent fillers, which are not reversible in the same way. This treatment must be performed by a licensed professional, and there is no safe way to dissolve filler at home.
